Regional Awards
The BACCN have always worked hard to try and reward and encourage the regions and regional committees for all their efforts, an ongoing tradition has been the Region of the Year and Regional Committee Member of the Year awards.
This year’s Region of the Year 2010 award was presented to the Anglia region. They are a highly motivated region with a vibrant committee who work hard to meet the needs of the critical care nurses in their region, delivering educational events of a high standard in innovative ways during challenging times within the NHS. They communicate effectively with both their regional members and the National board.
The committee looked resplendent when accepting their award at the 25th anniversary conference dinner. Well done and keep up this excellent work.
Regional Committee member of the Year 2010 was awarded to Tim Collins of the
Southern region for his enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to the Southern committee. Tim has been a Southern committee member since 2006. He has been regional study day co-ordinator for 4 years and has worked tirelessly to achieve high quality study events which have been very positively evaluated. More recently Tim has taken on the role of regional treasurer and he continues to demonstrate commitment to a demanding role within his region. Kathy Dalley accepted the award on his behalf and he is pictured here with it.
Two special awards were also presented this year to:
Marion Baker for outstanding commitment to the Anglia regional committee over many years and still willing to help despite retiring from the NHS after 25+ years working in critical care.
Sue Snelson for outstanding commitment to the Yorks and Lincs committee. Sue is also known to many as Sue Clark who served on the National Board for almost all of its 25 years, her commitment to BACCN and critical care has been, and continues to be outstanding and is an example to us all. Well done Sue.
