BACCN CPD points

From September 2007, BACCN CPD points will be made available for those attending certified BACCN study events and the National Conference.

BACCN CPD points will provide critical care nurses with tangible evidence of their CPD activities. The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (2006) state that every nurse must undertake at least 35 hours of learning activity in 3 years. Many nurses attend study events but receive no evidence of the quality and quantity of the event, BACCN CPD points will provide evidence that nurses attended a quality event approved by the leading National Association for critical care nurses. One hour of learning activity at a BACCN event will equate to 1 CPD point up to a maximum of 5 points per day, per event.

To accompany the CPD points, we have also provided a reflective template for delegates attending BACCN events – we hope this proves a useful and constructive tool to help record and document CPD activity.  In addition to this, certificates of attendance/evidence of CPD points can also be provided.

Please note at this time BACCN CPD points are restricted to BACCN events and Conferences.
